The diagnosis!

When Steve picked me up from the airport on Tuesday at 6 p.m., he said he was worn out and felt feverish. I felt his forehead and it was a tiny bit warm but not feverish. He took a pain pill when he went to bed and felt better. A little bit!

Wednesday he had aches and pains, much like the flu, including a stomach ache. He kept working, of course.

Thursday he had stuffy nose and congestion, and felt much the same as he had the days before but an Advil or two helped him keep going.

Friday about 4 p.m., his eyes started watering, discharging green liquid, and were very red and swollen. I flushed his eyes with saline solution and put warm washcloths over his eyes. He slept better that night.

This morning when he woke up, his eyes were swollen shut and he couldn't really see anything. He made a few phones calls and got out of the baptism he was to conduct, the Priest Breakfast, and three consultations with real estate, air plane deals, and ward members were postponed. The EverReady Bunny rabbit ran out of steam!


This photo was taken while he was sitting in the UMC Quick Care facility at 8:30 a.m. this morning. When he saw the doctor, the diagnosis was sinus infection and conjuctivitis! Pink eye, in layman terms.

He has a prescription of antibotics, eye drops, and over the counter allergy relief pills. Add to the nursing required: vaporizer running 24/7; warm wash cloths on his sinuses and eyes, and meals and liquids.

Now I will be the bunny and run myself full steam, never ending, like the bunny on the TV.

Advice for this post: the secret to avoiding getting sick from the many germs out there is constantly washing your hands! Especially when you have been around someone who is sick.
