Tending Ethan and Tristan

I flew to DFW on Thursday, May 6th to tend Ethan and Tristan while Erlynne and Chris went to Boston, MA for a conference. (They got to see Clark and family and spend some time seeing sights, but that will be for their blog) . I flew back home to Las Vegas today, Monday, May 17th

These pictures were taken on Tuesday, May 11 when Dallin came to the house for supper and to play with the boys and hang out with me. Tristan loves to play "fight" with Dallin. Notice Ethan reading his book.

I helped Tristan learn how to ride his bike. We took off the training wheels and I ran along beside him, while he got the hang of it, getting bruises and scrapes on his body when he fell over. He is a tough little guy, determined to learn how to ride his bike. He is almost there! A few more sessions with dad or mom and he will have it.
Thank you Lana for the great idea to take him to the church parking lot with lots of space. He made more progress in 30 minutes there than any time we worked in the alley and front street by the house. Nothing to bump into in the parking lot.
My counsel: when you have little kids to get off to school first thing in the morning, set the breakfast items on the table the night before, partial pack lunches, make sandwiches and keep in the fridge, etc. When you wake up in the morning, heat the oatmeal, warm up the sausage, or scramble a few eggs, and pour the milk or juice. Pack the lunches while they eat breakfast. They can get out the door will less fuss and fury!
