I am back, at least for today. So much has happened since my last post, including being a part of the pit choir, along with Steve, for the Las Vegas area production of "The Savior of the World" which began practices the end of February, performed seven night from April 23-May 1. Saturday night was our last performance. It was a great spiritual experience.
In the interim of all these rehearsals, etc. we had a mini-family reunion on April 15-18 which included my 87 year old mother Lula and brother Chris flying from Boise, my brothers Len and Curt and his wife Michelle driving from Utah on Thursday. Most of them went to the funny car races at the north Las Vegas race tracks, while Mother and I worked on her life history. On Saturday we attended a session at the temple, did lunch at the Boulder Station Buffet, drove to Hoover Dam to see the gigantic overpass they are building, and talked and laughed for hours, drove less than a mile to the east mountain to see the lights of Las Vegas. They headed for home Sunday morning, but my mother stayed and we worked on her history. We did over 100 pages on the computer in two weeks.
Steve and I drove his pickup to Provo, Ut, leaving Mother in St. George to visit her sister Doreene and husband, so we could attend Eric's graduation from BYU. Way to go Eric! Staci and Eric hosted a huge luncheon afterward and in the late afternoon, we packed the back of our pickup with a load of their stuff, driving it back south, picking up mother on the way, and unloading the stuff in our fourth garage bay. Except, we didn't unload my mother in the garage!
Mother, my brother Lance and his wife Rhonda from St. George came to the performance on Tuesday, April 27th, and my mother flew back home to Boise on Thursday afternoon. Steve and I were alone for two days.
Saturday, May 1st Eric, driving the U-Haul rent truck, Fraizer, Eric's younger brother driving the pickup, and Staci, driving their Honda Fit with Wesley in his car seat, arrived at our house at 9:45 p.m. As soon as Steve and I got home, 30 minutes later, we helped unload all their belongings in the fourth bay and the house, setting up their queen bed in Staci's settee, and Wesley's crib in Lana's Lair. Eric drove to California Sunday, May 2nd, to begin his new job training today. Staci will be unpacking and organizing their stuff this week and then she and Wesley are off on their own adventures.
For history purposes, we sold the Pottsboro, Texas house in February, the Plano, Texas house April 16, and have a contract pending for the sale of the Provo, Utah condo for May 13th. And Steve's real estate business is starting to pick up. He has an airplane hanger listed for sale, and three airplanes, with two possible offers being accepted on the planes this week. Keep your fingers crossed. Do you know anyone who wants to buy an airplane?
Here is the proof that Eric, Staci, and Wesley really moved in (to the garage!) Ha, ha!
