Boom! 4 a.m. Thursday morning, April 10, 2008. The weather front of all time came roaring through Plano taking out fences, downing powerlines, twisting signs and signal lights, and splitting and splintering majestic old trees. Alas, our maple tree, just a sapling when we moved here 28 years ago, lost several sturdy limbs. Lots of buzzing of the chain saw this evening to remove the damaged branches, chop them into manageable lengths, and stack them on the curb for the crews to pick up.

How sad! We had a storm last spring that did similar damage all over town. It's always sad to see such beautiful, mature trees get such a harsh pruning. I hope it recovers.
