You might be thinking stamps such as collecting, etc. I am not talking about that kind, but rather buying "forever stamps" from the post office before May 12 when the postal rate goes up to .42 each.
According to the agent at the post office on Monday, buying the forever stamp now at .41 cents each (in booklets of 10 for $8.20) will mean you can use the stamp no matter the rate increase, without adding 1 or 2 cent stamps with it. He said even if the rate goes up to 50 cents per stamp, the "forever stamp" will not change. This stamp is only available until May 12. After that, you will pay .42 per stamp.
My advice: if you are able to spend some money now, you will save money for several years.
