Steve and I left Las Vegas, NV on Wednesday, May 11 and flew nonstop on Southwest Airlines to Hartford, CT. We landed five hours later at 5:15 p.m. and rented a car from Budget, a new Ford Focus with the new smell still evident, and drove to the Fairfield Inn near the airport, checked in and left our bags before we drove the 22 miles to Vernon to Staci and Eric's apartment complex.
Wesley wasn't there. He had gone on a business trip with Eric to Clovis, CA, where his parents live for an installation for his work. Wesley got to play with his mommom and poppop's for a week.

Steve and I took turns hold baby Reese, a darling little baby girl, our ninth grandchild, and second granddaughter. We think she is pretty special.

The cutest little face. The dark, long hair, the three dimples in her cheeks when she smiles, all make for an endearing grand daughter.
First thing Thursday morning, May 12th, we left Steve do work on his computer and took Reese with us to the mall so Staci could get her long hair cut in a Regis shop. While she had that magic done on her, Reese and I strolled the nearby shops, including getting a twenty minute foot reflexology treatment from a little Asian shop. That was heavenly! I sat up on the table holding Reese during the foot rub, and she was her darling little "talking and gooing" self to the Asian couple. They were fascinated by her hair and smiles. She even went to sleep in my arms at the end.

And after we got home, I took a photo of the finished hair style. Staci looks adorable.

This picture was taken in her bedroom, in the rocking chair where she sits to feed baby Reese. I should have taken another shot from the side. The cut is so cute on her.

On Friday, May 13 we drove to West Hartford, had supper in the Whole Foods cafe, and later that night, went to the airport to pick up Wesley, flying back home with Marilyn and Kim Avarell, coming into town for the blessing.
Our walk around West Hartford. The day was cloudy and misty. My hair went flat. We strolled the mall streets and looked at shops, but mostly just window shopped.

Staci and Steve are waiting for the passengers to come down the escalator. See her cute hair!

Sorry this is so blurry. They were on the escalator and it was moving fast. My camera leaves a lot to be desired. Or is it me?

Hugs for mommy and no one else. Wesley is a typical two year old. "NO" is his main word, especially when it is late at night and you have been away from home and mommy for five days.

Wesley immediately opened the cover on the stroller and poked the pacifier into Reese's mouth. He had missed his little sister. While we waited for the bags to come, we took a few pictures.

Notice how he still clings to his mommy, but asking for Daddy at the same time. He is a "daddy's boy", always wanting to be with his favorite parental.

Our next adventure will be the blessing of Reese on Sunday. Stay tuned for the next post.

This took me 30 minutes to put together. I wish "blog" was easier to use. Downloading photos into the text is harder than it should be. Or maybe I am not doing it right? Any suggestions?
