Steve, or rather me, had talked about getting his hair buzzed to get rid of the thinning hair on the top. As he has gotten older, the hair was thin and wispy. In the Las Vegas wind and heat, his hair looked "windblown" most of the time. We had met a gentleman at Brenna's wedding reception in Provo in June who said he thought men looked younger with the buzz cut. So what do you think? Does the buzz make Steve look younger?

I think he looks younger, but he also looks like his brother LeGrand.
Outside on the back patio with the evening sun lighting. To the left you can see the screening Steve installed to cool the patio. It works quite well, actually. The sun is shaded in the hottest part of the afternoon. We could grill and eat on the back patio if we wanted. Or maybe not!
Next weekend Steve turns 61. He looks younger to me. But my big excitement over this new look, he won't look windblown or disheveled. As my father used to say, with a similar hair cut, "all I need is a washcloth to comb my hair."

I LIKE it! And I agree- it makes him look younger. Keep it! :D
For those who follow my blog, all three of you (laughing here), I got lots of email replies from various family members concerning Steve's haircut. For the record, HE requested it for this trip. It was low maintanance and he wore his AOPA cap all the time and never ONCE had messy looking hair. As we predicted, it has grown fast. In less than one week, it has grown 1/4 inch. If he has me buzz it again in a few weeks, it will be his decision, just like it was the first time.
